Re: Metaverse labels in the Pitchbook link, it includes some things that have always been around -- like video games. Do you think it's genuine to include that as "Metaverse"? Stuff like World of Warcraft had 10 million paying subscribers in 2010, but no one labeled it as such.
Now there's Web 3 architects giving it a high falutin labels. If business executives, scientists, families, etc. wanted to connect in a digital environment w/ avatars, it seems like the video game market would have tapped into that already -- or at a minimum, would clearly be advantaged in a digital environment versus hiring a "real-world" architect that for their career has had to worry about things like the laws of physics, construction materials, permits, etc.
Another example of pseudo-intellectual PropTech that gets deconstructed when challenged "Put your home on the blockchain":
