In the spirit of full disclosure, Iβm not sure whether I should write this article. On the one hand, I want to help entrepreneurs hone their pitches in a way that makes them more interesting and therefore more fundable (and hopefully exit-worthy). On the other hand, I donβt want to over-generalize and present my hot buttons as universal.
So maybe thatβs my caveat - I donβt speak for everyone!
I think several of these are universal but there is no way for me to poll all VC investors about their pitch preferences. So take these with a grain of salt.
Having said that, I examine these pretty often and like to think they are at least reasonable and based on logic. So, Iβll give you my red flags and then Iβll give you my reasoning for why itβs a red flag.
